I am here to help.

Have you felt completely out of control lately, or perhaps for years? Does it feel as though your mind and your body control you and not the other way around? Trauma is real and scary and can be debilitating when left untreated. It takes hard work, dedication, and a skilled therapist to help you heal. I am here to walk with you on your journey; I believe that healing is possible for everyone. So thank you for being brave and for being here. I know that there are many, many therapists out there to choose from so I would like to say a few things to perhaps help you hone in on what you want within the therapeutic relationship. I am a real and authentic person and I create a truly safe space where you will feel seen, heard, and validated. I am more than just a therapist - I am an ally and a person that you will feel connected to while we work together. I have experienced trauma in my life. I have dealt with a PTSD diagnosis and come through on the other end; stronger and more grounded than I have ever been. I understand what it is like to be where you are. I believe that developing trust and rapport with my clients provides a safe therapeutic setting for healing to begin. When you treat the root of the hurt and the pain, you treat the symptoms that are getting in your way of living in authenticity. With motivation, a safe therapeutic space, and a level of expertise to guide you, you can break the patterns that are not working in your life. When we treat the brain AND the body we experience freedom and connection. I am a skilled trauma therapist and have training in EMDR. I enjoy working with people of all ages, races, and sexual orientations. I am comfortable with childhood trauma of any type as well as current trauma and how it impacts you in your daily life. I practice therapy from an attachment perspective. If you have questions about any of this please reach out and we can chat. I work with adults and teens in a telehealth setting What is EMDR? EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy, people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain required a long time to heal, EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much like the body heals from physical trauma. When you cut your hand, your body works to close the wound. If a foreign object or repeated injury irritates the wound, it festers and causes pain. Once the block is removed, healing resumes. EMDR therapy demonstrates a similar sequence of events that occurs with mental processes. The brain’s information processing system naturally moves toward mental health. If the system is blocked or imbalanced by the impact of the disturbing event, the emotional wound festers and can cause intense suffering. Once the block is removed, healing resumes. Using the detailed protocols and procedures learned in EMDR training sessions, clinicians help clients activate their natural healing processes. **I do not accept insurance at this time.
